Idea Factory

Established in 1994 Idea Factory, Inc. designs, manufacturers, and distributes a niche line of bath & shower, oral healthcare, and pet care products throughout the United States. The Company’s branded products include Rinse Ace shower heads, the ProFloss Water Flosser, and a variety of Rinse Ace pet showers and dog washing accessories. The founders and current owners of the Company, Patty and John Mueller, were introduced to Promontory by their outside legal counsel as the Muellers were seeking to explore exit options from the business. Given Idea Factory’s niche, established distribution, and portfolio of patents & branded products, Promontory advised the owners to pursue a transaction with a strategic party. Promontory quickly identified that various strategic parties were attracted to the business’s strategic assets including brand name recognition, solid distribution relationships with regional and national mass merchandisers, hardware store chains, and pet stores, along with a growing online presence. Ginsey Home Solutions, a worldwide multi-channel supplier of bathroom and home products for the entire family – including pets, expressed the greatest strategic interest in Idea Factory’s product portfolio and acquired the business.
